Trading safely
Rcado only connects people. We don’t hold money, we don’t ship anything and we don’t inspect the goods. That means buyers and sellers are themselves responsible for a clean deal. These rules protect you best.
As a buyer
Check the serial number. You can look up transmitters, receivers and turbines in the theft register before you pay. Ask the seller for the info-screen photo if it’s missing from the listing. “No entry” is good news, but no guarantee. Pickup beats shipping. When you pick up, you see the item before paying. Switch on transmitter and receiver, check servos for play and jitter, and look out for swollen cells in batteries. When shipping, only pay with protection. A payment method with buyer protection is better than a bank transfer to a stranger. If the seller asks for an unprotected payment (“friends and family”), walk away. Watch out for pressure. “Hurry, three other people are interested”, a price far below the usual and a seller who won’t write through the platform are warning signs. Compare with the price range on the product page. Keep agreements in writing. Write down in the messages what was agreed on condition, accessories and shipping. That helps you if there’s a dispute later.
As a seller
Describe honestly. Condition, operating hours, defects and missing accessories belong in the listing. Your own photos show the item as it is. Only hand over or ship after payment has arrived. On pickup the buyer pays on the spot, ideally in cash or with a transfer you can see before the item leaves the table. Secure the shipment. Insured shipping with a tracking number, and a photo of the parcel’s contents before sealing it. Stay polite in a dispute and keep records. Messages, shipping receipt and proof of payment are your evidence.
Shipping batteries
LiPo and other lithium batteries are subject to special shipping rules (UN 3480 and 3481): packaging, labelling, and not every parcel service accepts them. Clarify this with the seller before buying.
Radio equipment
Radio equipment that can’t be approved in Germany, Austria or Switzerland must not be offered here. If you have questions, the manufacturer’s approval information or your model flying association can help.
Payment requests and links
Suspected fraud or stolen goods
- Report the listing or message with “Report”. This works without an account too.
- If something was stolen from you, enter the device in the theft register and report it to the police.
- If you’ve already paid, also contact your bank or payment provider and the police.
